Niagara Parks actively partners with several educational institutions in the community including Brock University, Niagara College, Westlane Secondary School and Fort Erie Secondary School. These partnerships facilitate co-op placements and job-shadowing experiences for students looking to work in the tourism industry.

Each year Niagara Parks awards five student employees $1,000 each to help offset the cost of their post-secondary education. Two additional awards of $1,000 are also presented to a student of History, Journalism or Environmental Science in memory of past Park Historian George Seibel and to a student in Engineering, Architecture or Land Use Planning in memory of Jim Harris, former Director of Planning and Development, who worked for Niagara Parks for 26 years.
All students who apply for these awards are evaluated under four criteria: high quality work performance; high level of academic achievement; full-time attendance at a recognized post-secondary school and positive contribution to the community.
