NPC is committed to serving all guests including persons with disabilities.
People Mover System
NPC is committed to excellence in serving all guests including persons with disabilities while acknowledging existing limits of the current People Mover System. While not yet wheelchair accessible, NPC shall ensure guests who can access the People Mover System can do so as easily and equitably as possible. NPC shall not charge a higher fare to persons with disabilities using the People Mover System.
All People Mover Drivers or Conductors will make pre-board announcements of route, direction, destination or next major stop upon request. All People Mover Drivers or Conductors will make an audible, verbal announcement of destination points or available route stops on vehicles while vehicle is on route or in operation.
NPC continues its efforts in increasing accessibility of its People Mover System through accessibility planning.
Assistive Devices
NPC is committed to serving persons with disabilities who use assistive devices to obtain, use or benefit from its goods and services.
NPC shall also ensure that all staff, volunteers and others dealing with the public are properly trained and familiar with various assistive devices that may be used by guests with disabilities while accessing its goods and services.
NPC shall also ensure that staff knows how to use assistive devices that are available at NPC such as wheelchairs and TTY (Telephone Typewriter or Telephone Teletype- Number to be announced).
NPC staff identified and trained in American Sign Language (ASL) will be made available to assist persons with disabilities where possible.
Persons with disabilities are permitted and encouraged to use their own personal assistive devices to access our facilities and goods and services. Assistive devices such as communication aids, cognition aids, personal mobility aids and medical aids may be used at all NPC facilities and parklands where access is possible at the venue. It should be noted that it is the responsibility of the person with a disability to ensure that his or her assistive device is operated in a safe manner at all times.
A limited number of wheelchairs are available for rental for the visiting public on a “first come-first served” basis at the following locations:
Table Rock Complex
• 5 wheelchairs available for rent. First come first served basis
• $15.00 fee per day (flat rate) with credit card number for deposit. To retain the wheelchair overnight the fee will be $30.00
Floral Showhouse
• 1 wheelchair available for inside the Showhouse only. First come first served basis. No charge.
Butterfly Conservatory
• 1 wheelchair available for inside the conservatory only. First come first serve basis
• No fee to use the wheelchair (driver's license or credit card required for security deposit)
First Aid and Emergency Services
NPC is committed to ensuring that first aid and emergency services are provided for all persons with disabilities when required.
Staff is trained to respond to first aid and emergency matters which may occur at Niagara Parks, including how to communicate emergency information, and how to offer evacuation assistance to persons with disabilities, identifying accessible and safe evacuation routes both on-site and off-site.
Billing
NPC is committed to providing accessible invoices to all of its vendors. For this reason, upon request, invoices shall be provided in an accessible format (e.g. large print).
NPC shall answer any questions customers may have about the content of the invoice in person, by telephone, TTY (Number to be announced), or email.
