7145 Niagara Parkway

Located 500 metres (½ mile) south of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls on the Niagara River Parkway, this attraction was constructed by The Niagara Parks Commission and opened in 1946. In 1980 a reception centre and display house were added to the original 1,022 square metre (11,000 square foot) greenhouse.
The exhibition Greenhouses are open year-round and feature collections of orchids, succulents and other tropical plant species. Eight main floral displays are created to reflect the changing seasons throughout the year. In addition, free-flying throughout the display houses are over 70 beautiful tropical songbirds.

Easter Weekend, lasting 2-3 weeks. Easter lilies, Forced Spring bulbs, Schizanthus.

All dates are approximate and include set-up times.
All the spring and summer outdoor bedding plants for the parks system are produced at this facility.
Outdoors, the grounds surrounding the greenhouse feature charming statues and a fountain in the hub with features of floribunda roses in ring shaped beds. A garden for the visually impaired was constructed in 1985 in co-operation with the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. Several of the plants are labelled in braille. In addition to this, a small native butterfly garden has been developed.
