Walking Tours to Honour 125th Anniversary of The Niagara Parks Commission
Niagara Falls, ON – In honour of the 125th anniversary of The Niagara Parks Commission (NPC), Parks Historian, Sherman Zavitz will lead special walking tours throughout Queen Victoria Park, the “Crown Jewel” of NPC’s properties. Tours are scheduled for Sunday, August 29 at 10 a.m. and Wednesday, September 1 at 6:30 p.m., each departing from the Niagara Parks Police Station.
Parks Historian, Sherman Zavitz is well known for his vast knowledge of Niagara Parks history and for his captivating story-telling style. On these limited free tours, Mr. Zavitz will describe the history of the area and outline special points of interest in the world-famous park at Niagara Falls. For anyone who appreciates history and wants to learn more about Niagara Falls and the early years of The Niagara Parks Commission, this is an opportunity not to be missed!
The meeting point for the walks will be at the front steps of Niagara Parks Police Station, 6075 Niagara Parkway, Niagara Falls. Tours are weather permitting.
