Queenston Heights Restaurant Showcases Niagara’s
Fresh Harvest and Growing Talent
Queenston, ON – The Niagara Parks Commission (NPC), host of one of the largest culinary apprentice programs in Ontario, is pleased to announce its Sixth Annual Apprentice Cooks & Chefs Showcase Dinner. Taking place on Thursday, November 10, 2011, this event will be held at Queenston Heights Restaurant in historic Queenston, Ontario, with proceeds benefiting the Niagara Parks Apprentice Cooks Scholarship Fund.
A six-course dinner will be created and prepared by NPC’s chefs in partnership with its apprentice cooks, featuring local produce and wine pairings from Queenston Heights’ VQA Gold award-winning ‘Best of Niagara’ wine list.
NPC and Niagara College have built a strong partnership around the Cook Apprentice Program. An award presentation will occur during the evening, as one of the students will be recognized as the scholarship recipient. The scholarship includes a $1,000 cheque presented by NPC’s Executive Chef, Paul Pennock, along with a set of professional chef’s knives donated by The Canadian Food and Wine Institute at Niagara College, valued at $375.
With an unsurpassed view of the lower Niagara River, Niagara’s tender fruit orchards and world-renowned vineyards, this evening is sure to be an unforgettable dining experience. Tickets are $100 each, which includes reception, dinner and wine pairing, taxes and gratuities. Wine & canapé reception begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Queenston Room, with dinner at 6:30 p.m. in the main dining room. Tickets may be reserved by calling 905-262-4274.
