Queenston Heights Restaurant Showcases Niagara’s
Fresh Harvest and Growing Talent
Queenston, ON – The Niagara Parks Commission (NPC), host of the largest culinary apprentice program in Ontario, is pleased to announce its 4th Annual Chefs and Apprentice Cooks Showcase Dinner. Taking place on Thursday, October 22, 2009, this event will be held at Queenston Heights Restaurant in historic Queenston, Ontario, with proceeds raised benefiting The Niagara Parks Commission Apprentice Cooks Scholarship Fund.
The six-course dinner will be created and prepared by NPC’s chefs in partnership with its apprentice cooks, featuring local produce and wine pairings from Queenston Heights’ VQA Gold award-winning ‘Best of Niagara’ wine list.
NPC and Niagara College have built a strong partnership around the Cook Apprentice Program. An award presentation will occur during the evening where the 2008 scholarship recipient will be recognized. The scholarship includes a $1,000 cheque presented by NPC’s Executive Chef, Paul Pennock, along with a set of professional chef’s knives donated by the Niagara College School of Culinary and Wine Studies, valued at $375.
With an unsurpassed view of the lower Niagara River, Niagara’s tender fruit orchards and world renowned vineyards, this evening is sure to be an unforgettable dining experience. Tickets are $100 each, which includes reception, dinner and wine pairing, taxes and gratuities.
