Botanical Gardens Offer Fall Gardening Seminars
Niagara Falls, ON – For the serious garden lover or the casual green thumb, The Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens will host a series of gardening seminars this Fall. Curators and instructors from the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture will offer an array of tips, hands-on practice and fundamental gardening skills. Each seminar will be held at the Botanical Gardens on the following dates:
Tuesday, September 21, from 6 – 8 p.m.: Deciduous Tree I.D. (Part 1)
Tuesday, October 5, from 6 – 8 p.m.: Fall Pruning
Saturday, October 23, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Fall Colour in Your Garden
The cost is $20 per person, per seminar. Note: Spaces are limited and advanced registration is required. Full payment must accompany each registration. The Niagara Parks Commission is a self-funding agency responsible for the maintenance of over 1,700 hectares of parkland, roads and recreational trails stretching some 56 kilometres along the Niagara River corridor from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario. Its mission remains the same as it was upon its foundation in 1885, “to preserve and enhance the natural beauty of the Falls and the Niagara River corridor for the enjoyment of visitors, all while maintaining financial self-sufficiency.”
