DR. ALLAN M. ARMITAGE
Dr. Armitage will return to the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture to assume a teaching and mentor role during his sabbatical from July to August 2008. He will assist instructors in teaching herbaceous plant material and greenhouse crops, be involved in industry and horticulture society networking/ speaking/ workshop events on and off site, in addition to consultation in the Botanical Gardens, and advancing his writings and next book, among many other ventures. We are also holding a "Garden Talk Series" of evenings where, for a small fee, local residents can join Dr. Armitage in our Botanical Gardens for an informative tour on specific plants in our collection.
Liz Klose, Superintendent stated, "It will be a tremendous privilege to for us to work and learn from 'a legend in the garden' and a credit to the staff and students that Dr. Armitage has chosen to share his wealth of horticulture knowledge and experience with us".
The Garden Walkabout Series presents intimate and entertaining garden tours as Dr. Armitage provides an educational and captivating account of specific plants and their garden virtues. Reservations are required and the cost is $25 per ticket:
