Safety in Niagara Parks
Safety in the Parks and Niagara Gorge
Enjoy the View – Respect the Railing. Safety is a Shared Responsibility
Millions of visitors have come to Niagara Falls and left safely, taking with them a lifetime experience in nature’s natural majestic wonder. An ornamental stone and steel railing has existed in Queen Victoria Park for decades and is meant to provide a safe vantage point for viewing this landscape, including the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. These vantage points are perfect for personal viewing and taking photos for memories to take home.
Climbing the retaining wall at any point puts a person at tremendous personal risk of serious bodily injury or death. Please obey all signage and barriers meant to keep our visitors safe. The Niagara Parks Commission is responsible for providing the safety and security of its visitors. It is also recognized that each visitor has a certain responsibility for their own safety.
There are inherent risks in some areas within the Niagara Parks, including the Niagara River Gorge, which present its own unique challenges a natural landscape provides, including heights: from high cliff walls, swift river waters, falling rock, and winding nature trails carved into the landscape.
