Soldiers’ Field Day is an annual event that allows for some friendly competition amongst Niagara Parks’ Heritage team members. Staff are required to have an in-depth knowledge of life during the War of 1812, and through their training, they also learn some of the skills that were used during that time, such as military drills and cooking techniques.

These skills are then put into practice, as staff are divided into teams to compete in five events, including: Manual of Arms Drill, Trivia, Perfect Volley, Speed Load and Seneca Run. The winning team will be announced during the 4:30 p.m. historical demonstration.
