Join Michael Perry, Mr. Plant Geek himself, on Thursday, April 12 for an evening of learning and socializing at the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture. Discover secrets of the plant world with one of the UK’s most influential horticulturalists and explore gardening from a whole new perspective. After the lecture, guests will also be able to mingle while enjoying light refreshments, a cash bar on-site serving craft beers and other beverages.

Michael has been involved with gardening and plants since he was just five years old. He is a self-professed Plant Geek, and was listed in the Sunday Times top 20 most influential people in the gardening world, thanks to his plant development and marketing prowess. Michael keeps busy travelling in search of new plants, as well as lecturing, worldwide, including regular work in Japan. He uses this knowledge of other gardening cultures to influence and evolve our english gardening habits with tips and new plant suggestions. He is very active on social media, and followers enjoy his laid-back, yet informative style – and has raised over $25,000 for horticultural charities within just a few years.

I have always loved unusual, odd, weird plants, and plants that do things you don’t expect them to…! I am so lucky that my career has taken me all around the world in my quest to find and learn more about these plants. I’ve now brought all this together in the Weird and Wacky Plants Project!
With help from some of the world’s most prominent plants-people, you can join me on an hour’s visual journey through the fascinating plant world! We’ll look at plants with super powers, plants that move themselves, plants with sexual prowess, plants that smell of weird things, and lots, lots more! I hope you enjoy the ride!
