The Winter Festival of Lights

The Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights transforms Niagara Falls into a palette of breathtaking colour with millions of sparkling lights and animated displays, located within the Niagara Parks, Dufferin Islands and surrounding tourist districts. As part of the Winter Festival of Lights, Niagara Parks presents Aura: Let it Glow, bringing several incredible illumination-themed events to the Winter Festival of Lights throughout the entire 56-km Niagara Parks.

Experience special displays and activations across the park celebrating the rich natural and architectural beauty of the Niagara Parkway, during Aura: Let It Glow. Shop local craft goods at our Grand View Winter Marketplace, stroll through the illuminated paths of Dufferin Islands, and see the stunning Oakes Garden Theatre and Toronto Power structures come to life with vivid sound & light shows!

Completed in 1906 the Toronto Power Generating Station was a key piece to Ontario’s energy production through the first half of the 20th century. Watch as the historic structure is transformed by a spectacular sound and lights show with dancing colours and patterns moving in time to holiday music broadcasted locally on 100.5FM!

Constructed to serve as a grand gateway for those arriving to Canada, Oakes Garden Theatre has been meticulously restored to re-affirm its position at forefront of Canada as a destination, and Canadian architectural heritage. During Aura, the structure's beautiful architecture is further accentuated by numerous illumination displays throughout the grounds.

Take in the stunning annual Christmas Display at the Floral Shouhouse featuring poinsettias, cyclamen, azaleas, Christmas cactus and paperwhite narcissus, free-flying tropical songbirds and many other Christmas surprises.

Table Rock centre located at the brink of the Falls transforms for the holiday season with beautiful decorations and as it hosts Deck the Falls Holiday Tours! Step outside to the brink of the the Horeshoe Falls and get a picture with our Canada 150 sign, on display through to January!

South Queen Victoria Park

Park for free at Dufferin Islands (1) and explore the most densely illuminated section of the park as you stroll through the paths of this incredible winter wonderland! The Toronto Power Generating Station (2) and Floral Showhouse (3) are just a short walk away as well!

Central Queen Victoria Park

Park at our Falls Parking Lot ($20) and take in the sights of the beautifully decorated Table Rock Centre (4) and of course spectacular Falls illumination every night at dusk.

North Queen Victoria Park

North Queen Victoria Park

Park at our Queen Victoria Place parking lot ($20) and make your way north along the parkway, taking in the various lighting nodes along your path. Shop for holiday gifts at our Grand View Winter Marketplace (5) from November 23 - 26 and conclude your evening with a stop at Oakes Garden Theatre (6) to enjoy our Lumina Sound & Light Show from November 22-26 from dusk to 11pm.

Fireworks Schedule

Join us in Queen Victoria Park for Falls Fireworks beginning Saturday November 18 at 9pm with the Winter Festival of Lights Opening Ceremonies! Weekly shows will continue every Friday at 9pm through to January 26 with fireworks happening nightly from December 23 to 29 and of course a special New Years Eve show on December 31 at midnight!

Niagara Falls New Years Eve Concert

Queen Victoria Park – 8pm to 12:30am

Ring in the New Year in Niagara Falls and join one of Canada’s longest running New Year’s Eve celebrations!

This year’s concert line-up will feature musical performances by James Barker Band, Jess Moskaluke, Simple Plan and Marianas Trench. This highly anticipated free show will begin at 8:00 p.m. as things kicks off in Queen Victoria Park. The outdoor celebration also features a variety of food and beverage options, as well as an outdoor licensed area.

Celebrate the arrival of the New Year with two magnificent fireworks displays, launched from the Niagara Gorge and the Skylon Tower, at 9:00 p.m. and midnight!
