October 5, 2017

Niagara Parks

Niagara Parks will be offering something for everyone this Thanksgiving weekend, including a two-day celebration of Canada’s national game as the Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour launches their season in Queen Victoria Park on Saturday, October 7 and Sunday, October 8.

Vibrant Fall Colours Transform Niagara Parks
Celebrate the transition to fall in Niagara as you tour the Niagara River Recreation Trail along the Niagara River and enjoy breathtaking views complemented by the bold red, orange and gold hues and fall chrysanthemums that surround you. Plan a hike throughout the over four kilometres of trails that comprise the Niagara Glen, which will offer the perfect fall scene of changing leaves overlooking the incredible Niagara River and Whirlpool below. Visit the Niagara Glen Nature Centre or the Whirlpool Aero Car for an unforgettable, panoramic view of the fall colours within the Niagara Gorge.

Rogers Hometown Hockey in Queen Victoria Park
Rogers Hometown Hockey will kick off its season in Niagara Parks with a two-day festival and live broadcast taking place at Queen Victoria Park, overlooking Niagara Falls. This family-friendly event is open to fans of all ages, free of charge and will feature appearances by local cancer survivor and minor hockey player, Alex Luey, Niagara Falls Flyer great and NHL legend, Derek Sanderson, and a performance by Niagara’s own country star, Tim Hicks. Join us for the outdoor viewing party of the Sportsnet broadcast on Sunday, October 8, when the Montreal Canadiens take on the New York Rangers. Hosted by Ron MacLean and Tara Slone, the event will also be an opportunity for Niagara Parks and the region to showcase its rich hockey culture and vibrant heritage to the rest of Canada. Free parking and shuttle service to be provided at Rapidsview parking lot for the event.
