Memorial Tree & Bench Program

Niagara Parks strives to plant numerous trees throughout its 1,325 hectares (3,274 acres) of property each year. This effort is part of an ongoing mandate to preserve and protect the natural landscape for millions of guests from around the world. The Niagara Parks Memorial Tree & Bench Program allows relatives and friends to participate in this important cause.

A Lasting Tribute

The gift of a tree or bench serves as a lasting tribute that benefits both the community and the natural environment. Memorial trees and benches offer a unique way to remember a loved one in one of Niagara Parks’ many beautiful settings.

Memorial Trees in Niagara Parks

Contributing to the Niagara Parks Foundation's tree planting program helps preserve and protect the natural environment along the Niagara River corridor. The gift of a tree is a lasting tribute that offsets carbon footprints, supports wildlife, and enhances the scenic beauty of the parks. Visitors will appreciate these trees for decades to come.

Memorial Tree Cost & Details

Niagara Parks is responsible for the installation of your gift. Specific selection and placement are by request and subject to the discretion of Niagara Parks but will be considered in collaboration with the donor.

Memorial trees are only planted in the spring and fall to ensure they thrive. Please note that there may be an extended lead time to acquire suitable trees, and the planting of some species may be delayed to align with their optimal planting time.

The cost for each memorial tree is $600, which includes the tree, materials, planting, a memorial label, and ongoing maintenance.

Memorial Benches in Niagara Parks

As with memorial trees, bench placement is subject to the discretion of Niagara Parks but will be considered in collaboration with the donor.
