What We Do
The heart of our mission lies in preserving the priceless nature and heritage along the Niagara River corridor for the enjoyment of the public and future generations. Initiatives supported by the Niagara Parks Foundation include:
Environmental
Environmental stewardship and conservation of natural habitats along the Niagara River corridor, from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario.
Heritage
Heritage restoration of a number of heritage properties, materials and landscapes along the Niagara River corridor. These include buildings, structures, stone walls, iron works and unique landscapes.
Culture
Enriching cultural programming such as storytelling, special exhibitions, performing arts and public art installations.
Active Living
Engaging active living initiatives to encourage visitors of all ages and abilities to learn more about and enjoy nature, gardens and outdoor recreation.
Stewardship Research
Stewardship focused research projects that support Niagara Parks’ ongoing stewardship initiatives. Projects are determined and updated annually.
