Horticultural Rotations

All students complete three-week horticultural rotations throughout their course of study. Key functional areas covered include:

  • Turf maintenance
  • Seasonal design
  • Horticultural maintenance
  • Pruning & hedging
  • Seasonal display installation & maintenance
  • Plant health care
  • Plant records
  • Greenhouse production
  • Other elective projects

During each rotation, students are evaluated and tested on their mastery of the horticultural skills covered in the rotation, including planting, propagation, watering, pruning, perennial maintenance, fertilization and more.
