Niagara Parks presents its second annual MIDSUMMER DAYS, a weekend-long celebration highlighting the unique experiences available in Niagara Parks, from Friday, August 11 to Sunday, August 13. As part of Niagara Parks’ Begin Here campaign to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Canada and the founding of Ontario, this special event weekend will be headlined by a FREE outdoor concert on Saturday, August 12.
MIDSUMMER DAYS Concert in Queen Victoria Park
From 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, visitors can enjoy a FREE concert in Queen Victoria Park featuring The Julian Taylor Band, Nefe, and new-comers Only Yours. This event aligns with Niagara Parks’ Wednesday night Ontario Live summer concert series, which showcases some of the best of emerging talent from Ontario in celebration of Canada and Ontario150.
Night Lights: Journey Behind the Falls After Dark
With Night Lights: Journey Behind the Falls After Dark, guests can experience Niagara Parks’ beloved 128-year-old Canadian Signature Experience after hours and view the nightly illumination of the Falls and the fireworks display from the base of the Horseshoe Falls. The program which takes place Monday to Friday until September 4, will coincide with MIDSUMMER DAYS on Friday, August 11. Admission can be booked as part of the Adventure Pass or purchased individually for $17.30 + tax for an adult (13+ years) and $11.25 + tax for youth (6-12 years), with children 5 years of age and under free. Tickets are subject to availability.
32nd Annual Siege of Fort Erie Battle Re-Enactment
The grounds of Old Fort Erie are set to once again host Canada’s largest annual War of 1812 battle reenactment for the 32nd Annual Siege of Fort Erie battle re-enactment weekend from August 12-13. The action-packed schedule begins both days at 10 a.m. when the Fort and camps are officially opened to the public, followed by a full lineup of battles, demonstrations and performances throughout the day. Namaste Niagara
The final Namaste Niagara event of the summer will be held on Sunday, August 13. Admission to Namaste Niagara, Niagara Parks’ exclusive yoga series, offers private access to Journey Behind the Falls, a 45-minute gentle yoga session on the lower observation deck beside Horseshoe Falls, and breakfast at Queenston Heights Restaurant. Tickets for this event are very limited and will be available for purchase at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 4 through Niagara Parks’ social channels.
