Journey Through Time

Journey Behind the Falls holds a rich history, dating back to 1832 when the first staircase was constructed down into the Niagara Gorge for visitors to enter what was then called the “Sheet of Falling Water” attraction. This history is celebrated and showcased throughout a refreshed queuing area featuring all-new exhibits.

Bag Inspections at Journey Behind the Falls

For the security of our guests, backpacks or bags that exceed the 56cm (22 in.) by 36cm (14 in.) by 23cm (9 in.) may not be brought into the facility. All other bags are subject to inspection prior to entry.

An elevator takes you down to a wide, well-lit accessible tunnel, viewing portals, and upper observation deck. There are stairs down to a lower observation deck.
