In partnership with the School of Wine, Beer and Spirits at Niagara College, experience an unforgettable evening where history and craft brewing come together at A Shot of History, hosted at Old Fort Erie! This unique event explores the origins of beer and its role in sustaining the British army while shaping everyday life in early Upper Canada.
Admission to the event includes five 4 oz craft beer tastings, along with paired food selections to complement each pour.
The experience is further brought to life with thrilling black powder demonstrations and the energy of live music filling the fort grounds.
Whether you are a history enthusiast, a craft beer lover, or simply looking for a memorable night out, this event offers something for everyone.

NC Craft is proud to partner with Niagara Parks for the inaugural A Shot of History event, celebrating Niagara’s rich brewing heritage through historically inspired food and beer pairings that reflect what would have been enjoyed in the early 1800s. As Canada’s first teaching winery, brewery and distillery, we’re especially excited that Niagara College students will be serving guests throughout the event, gaining valuable hands-on experience while sharing the award-winning beverages they help create. It’s a unique opportunity to connect our region’s history with the next generation of craft beverage professionals.
Old Fort Erie
Experience the heart-pounding sights and sounds of a fort under siege at Old Fort Erie. This War of 1812 National Historic Site will take you back in time with daily tours, musket demonstrations and annual special events like the Siege of Old Fort Erie reenactment and the Old Fort Erie Speaker Series. Join British, American and Indigenous soldiers on a tour of the grounds and learn more about Niagara’s pivotal role in the War of 1812.
