Niagara Parks Open to the Public Over the Holidays

Niagara Falls, ON – In addition to Canada’s largest, free outdoor light festival, guests visiting Niagara Parks can enjoy a number of attractions and amenities open to the public during Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Whether visiting for a holiday or simply to witness the wintery views of Niagara Falls, there is plenty to do along the Niagara River corridor. For more information, visit niagaraparks.com/hours.

Christmas Day at Niagara Falls

While Niagara Parks’ signature year-round attractions and sites are open daily throughout the holiday season, the following sites will be open with modified hours on Thursday, December 25:

  • Table Rock Centre, including Public Washroom Facilities – 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Journey Behind the Falls – 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Niagara Takes Flight – 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Table Rock Shop & Table Rock Market – 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Queen Victoria Place Gift Shop & Café – 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Queen Victoria Park Public Washroom Facilities – 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Niagara Parks Pop-Up Casino Store – 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Grand View Public Washroom Facilities – 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Falls Incline Railway – 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Falls Parking Lot – 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

WildPlay’s Zipline to the Falls will also be operating on Christmas Day from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Please note that the WEGO bus service will not be available on December 25.

Winter Festival of Lights

Guests are invited to bundle up and explore the eight-kilometre winter wonderland with millions of twinkling lights and photo ops at every turn. Starting December 25, visitors can also enjoy nightly fireworks and illuminations of the mighty Horseshoe Falls, as well as free, nightly laser light shows in the Queen Victoria Event Field from December 26 to the end of the festival on January 4, 2026.

New Year’s Eve at Niagara Parks

All Niagara Parks operations, including parking lots and WEGO bus services, will run as usual on New Year’s Eve. There will be a variety of offerings both on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day for guests to enjoy:

  • Extended Fireworks Shows and Illuminated Falls – There will be two extended fireworks displays on New Year’s Eve, at 8 p.m. and midnight, along with a special illumination of Niagara Falls at 8 p.m.
  • New Year’s Eve Dinner at Table Rock House Restaurant – Ring in the new year with an unforgettable view of Niagara Falls. The spectacular Prix Fixe menu will include a choice of starter, entrée and dessert, with a sparkling wine toast. Free parking with ticket purchase. Reserve your table here.
  • New Year’s Day Brunch at Queenston Heights Restaurant – Celebrate the arrival of the New Year by experiencing the unique tastes of the Niagara region, stunning views and fantastic service with the New Year’s Day brunch. Reserve a table here.

Road Closures on New Year’s Eve

On Wednesday, December 31, the Niagara Parkway between Clifton Hill and Fraser Hill will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 7 p.m., with a full road closure in place by 8 p.m. The road will reopen by 1 a.m., following the New Year’s Eve fireworks.

All road closures will be at the discretion of the Niagara Parks Police Service and Niagara Regional Police Service. Timing may be adjusted as required. In the event of inclement weather or lower-than-anticipated visitation levels, closures may be modified or cancelled.

New Year’s Eve Parking and Transportation

The Falls Incline Railway will operate until 1 a.m. for guests travelling between Queen Victoria Park and the surrounding tourism areas.

WEGO Bus Service will operate from Rapidsview Parking Lot to Table Rock every 30 minutes until 1 a.m. Additional WEGO service is offered at the corner of Hiram Street (Bird Kingdom) to Whirlpool Aero Car, including pick up and drop off at the Niagara Falls Train Station.

For guests travelling from the GTA, the GO Train will be available to provide seamless transportation to the Falls. With GO+WEGO packages, guests can hop on the GO train from Union Station to Niagara Falls, then transfer to the WEGO bus to explore the Niagara Parkway with ease. Guests driving to Niagara Falls are encouraged to take advantage of the many parking lots in the area, especially Niagara Parks’ Rapidsview Parking Lot, which offers $10 parking and a convenient shuttle service to and from Table Rock Centre.
