Niagara Falls, ON – Celebrate Family Day weekend with unforgettable experiences for all ages at Niagara Parks. From February 13 to 16, 2026, families can explore a winter lineup of indoor and outdoor attractions that blend nature, discovery and quality time together, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Frozen Falls.

This year, Niagara Falls has transformed into a remarkable winter scene, with its most impressive ice formations in a decade. With a mix of free activities, ticketed experiences and options for every pace, Family Day at Niagara Parks offers meaningful moments and winter adventures families will remember long after the ice melts. Plan your visit at niagaraparks.com/familyday.

Frozen Falls and Frozen Fun

Niagara Falls has partially frozen, creating frosty mist and dazzling ice formations. Top viewing locations at Niagara Parks include Journey Behind the Falls for an up-close look and the Tunnel viewing platform at the Niagara Parks Power Station for a panoramic view of the stunning winter landscape.  After braving the cold, visit Niagara Takes Flight inside Table Rock Centre to experience the Niagara River corridor across all four seasons.

The pop-up Frozen Falls Icewine Bar is returning for Family Day weekend at the Table Rock Bistro + Wine Bar on Saturday, February 14 and Sunday, February 15, where guests can enjoy local VQA Icewine paired with a warm French Onion soup or sweet apple crumble for only $23. This family-friendly experience also welcomes younger guests with complimentary hot chocolate.

On Friday, February 13, guests to Table Rock Centre can also witness a live ice sculpture carving by ice sculptor Danielle O’Rourke  at the Falls Incline Plaza. The heart-shaped ice sculpture will then be on display all weekend long for the perfect Valentine’s Day photo opportunity.

Butterfly Conservatory Reopening

The Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory reopens on Friday, February 13, just in time to welcome families planning a visit over the long weekend.

The temporary six-week closure allowed Niagara Parks to complete important behind-the-scenes maintenance, including the replacement of specialized netting that helps protect the butterflies and the surrounding natural environment. With this essential work complete, families can once again wander among thousands of free-flying butterflies and vibrant tropical plants. To learn more, visit niagaraparks.com/butterfly.

Birding Open House at Niagara Glen

Hosted indoors at the Niagara Glen Nature Centre on Monday, February 16, the Birding Open House invites families to learn about Niagara’s incredible birdlife through interactive workshops and presentations. In partnership with Birds on the Niagara, the free event will feature a special birds of prey meet-and-greet presented by the Canadian Raptor Conservancy.
