Discover the stunning beauty of the Niagara Glen, a designated nature reserve located in the heart of the Niagara Gorge. Follow the winding stairways to explore four kilometres (2.5 miles) of rugged hiking trails through a pristine section of the Carolinian Forest. Experience awe-inspiring geological formations, diverse wildlife and lush plant life. Enjoy magnificent views of the powerful Niagara River and the captivating Whirlpool.

Glide over the Niagara Whirlpool
Take a ride on the historic Whirlpool Aero Car for a remarkable journey over the vibrant, teal-coloured waters of the Niagara River. Enjoy spectacular views of the swirling Niagara Whirlpool and the river’s Class 6 rapids as you soar 3,500 feet across the Niagara Gorge.
While the cable car travels between two points on the Canadian shore, its unique route crosses the international border between Canada and the United States a total of four times due to the river’s sharp bend. No passport required!
The Whirlpool Aero Car is also one of the best places to view the changing autumn colours along both sides of the Niagara Gorge.

Reconnect with nature at Dufferin Islands
Just a short stroll south from the brink of the Horseshoe Falls, you’ll find the serene Dufferin Islands, a hidden sanctuary covering ten acres of greenspace. Meandering paths and charming wooden footbridges connect the small islands, creating a peaceful retreat in the heart of Niagara Falls. Enjoy the tranquility and perhaps spot some local wildlife in this beloved escape.
The unique landscape of Dufferin Islands was shaped in the early 1900s during the construction of the Ontario Power Generating (OPG) Station. The fill from the power station’s forebays and tunnels was used to form these new islands. Although the OPG Station ceased operations in 1999, the site remains lovingly maintained by Niagara Parks.
A never-before-seen perspective of Niagara Falls
Discover the Niagara Parks Power Station + Tunnel and immerse yourself in the history of hydroelectric power while enjoying breathtaking views of the iconic Horseshoe Falls. Travel by glass-enclosed elevator 180 feet below ground to access the original tailrace tunnel that emptied water used to generate hydroelectricity back into the Niagara River. At the end, you will find a new viewing platform that offers an entirely new vantage point to view the American and Canadian Horseshoe Falls.
By day, explore the power station with a bilingual audio tour and marvel at two Tesla Coil demonstrations, including an interactive display that lets you see and feel the power of electricity up close.
By night, the station transforms with the award-winning sound and light show, Currents, and a colourfully lit Tunnel leading to a panoramic view of the illuminated Falls and nightly fireworks.
