Niagara Falls, ON – As summer gives way to fall, Niagara Parks is welcoming the change of seasons with an incredible line-up of experiences inviting guests to connect with nature, history and horticulture. Whether it’s celebrating 90 years of the Botanical Gardens and School of Horticulture, learning about the incredible migration of Monarch butterflies, exploring the haunting history of Old Fort Erie or enjoying the first colours of autumn at the Floral Showhouse, there are plenty of reasons to visit Niagara Parks this September.
Honouring a Legacy 90 Years in the Making
This September, Niagara Parks is continuing the celebration of its remarkable horticultural legacy. In honour of its 90th anniversary, the Botanical Gardens and the School of Horticulture will host two unforgettable events on Saturday, September 19. An exclusive speaker series featuring some of horticulture’s most respected voices, including Mr. Plant Geek and Frankie Flowers, will take place from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the School of Horticulture Lecture Hall. The celebration continues that evening with a relaxed Nuit Vert garden party in the stunning Parterre Garden from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Guests can purchase tickets to individual events or enjoy a full day of festivities with a combined ticket.

Dive into the World of Monarch Butterflies
The Majestic Monarchs tag and release program returns to the Butterfly Conservatory on Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This free educational event invites visitors to explore the Monarch’s life cycle, learn about its incredible migratory journey south and understand why this iconic orange, black and white species is listed as a “species of special concern” under Ontario’s Endangered Species Act.
Explore the Haunted Past of Canada’s Bloodiest Battlefield
For those looking to trade sunshine for chills, the popular Ghost Tours return to Old Fort Erie on Saturday, September 19. Guided by lantern light, guests can explore the eerie grounds and barracks of Canada’s bloodiest battlefield while hearing haunting tales from the site’s past and new stories of spooky encounters experienced by staff.
Tours run approximately one hour and take place outside; guests are asked to dress appropriately for the weather.

Add Even More Fun with These Destination Events
Niagara Parks is proud to support destination events that enhance the visitor experience throughout Niagara Falls. Guests can attend the second annual Niagara 5000 Supercar Parade on Friday, September 18 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. In support of MacKids, this free event will showcase a series of epic cars right by the brink of Niagara Falls. From 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., Tesla will host an interactive display at the Niagara Parks Power Station plaza, including test drive opportunities.
Additionally, country music fans can enjoy an all-star lineup at the second annual Misty City Music Festival. From Friday, September 18 to Sunday, September 20, headliners such as Jake Owen, Jon Pardi and Brooks & Dunn will be performing at the Fallsview Event Grounds.

Enjoy a Sneak Peek to Autumn with the Annual Fall Show
Be among the first to experience the beauty of autumn. The annual Fall Show at the Floral Showhouse, on display until Sunday, October 18, transforms the space into a celebration of the harvest season with vibrant blooms, ornamental plans, fragrant herbs and rich autumn colours.
Shades of apricot, red, pink, white and yellow are complemented by colourful harvest favourites, including garden mums, celosia, ornamental peppers, kale, Swiss chard, herbs and grains.
