Cycling at Niagara Parks

What makes Niagara Parks such a renowned destination for cyclists? In a word, variety. The 56km of the Niagara Parkway offers something for riders of all levels, not to mention some of the most spectacular views anywhere in the world.

North Parkway Trail

The northern section of Niagara Parks cycling trail begins in Niagara-on-the-Lake and provides riders not only beautiful views of the Niagara Gorge, but also numerous heritage sites and plaques paying tribute to the rich history of the area. For those not intent on setting a new personal best, or training for an upcoming race, there are plenty of interesting potential pit stops in this portion of the trail. The Northern section also includes large uninterrupted stretches of paved trails making for a smooth and enjoyable ride that is clear of motorized vehicles. For those looking to grab a snack or something to drink, our Niagara Glen Nature Centre offers both (including a free water bottle filling station), along with some of the best unobstructed views of the gorge anywhere in the park.

Queen Victoria Park

When riding through the core of Queen Victoria Park, riders will need to be aware of increased vehicle traffic, but have access to some great cyclist ammenities as well! The Incline Plaza, offers racks where riders can securely leave their bikes while exploring Table Rock Centre and the brink of the Horseshoe Falls. Also located here is a convenient repair station, perfect for making a quick fix or minor adjustments before continuing on your ride.

South Parkway Trail

The southern portion of the trail offers much lighter vehicle traffic, along with some beautiful views of the river. Picnic areas are in abundance in this section of the trail, with many located just steps from the water. With no major elevation changes to be found, this section is a great spot for those training for road races.
