Wilderness Weekends invite you to connect with nature and the wider community through art, adventure and conversation. Whether you’re painting the landscape, developing your bouldering skills, or seeing something new with camera in hand, there’s something for everyone.

EVENT CALENDAR
Hike & Help: Glen Cleanup
June 28 + 29 | 1 - 3 p.m. | Free
Make the most of your next hike by helping us clean up the Glen. Our expert guides will show you the trails, pointing out key features and teaching you how to identify invasive species along the way. While we’re out there, we’ll pick up any litter we find to keep the Glen beautiful!
Gloves, bags and any tools needed will be provided. Limited to 30 people per day.

Focus on Nature: Photography Workshop
July 26 + 27 | 1 - 3 p.m. | Free
Returning to Dufferin Islands this year is our popular wildlife photography workshop. Follow our photographer along the scenic trails in search of the many species that call this area home. Whether you're bringing a professional-grade camera or just learning the features on your phone, all levels are welcome.
Limited to 10 people per day.

Gym to Crag: Bouldering Workshop
August 30 + 31 | 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Trading plastic holds in for real rock is more than a challenge, it’s a milestone. Join us in one of Ontario’s favourite bouldering locations and learn to level up so you can thrive in the great outdoors. The crag is calling, let’s go!
Participants must bring bouldering shoes, crash pads and a valid bouldering permit (buy here). Parking is complimentary with permit.
Limited to 30 people per day.

Painting the Gorge: Outdoor Watercolour Workshop
September 27 + 28 | 2 - 4 p.m. | $20 per person
Join us for a guided watercolour workshop set against the show-stopping backdrop of the Niagara Gorge. Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time or you’re a seasoned artist, you’ll leave with lasting techniques to help you capture the beauty of any landscape on paper.
Weather permitting, the workshop will take place outdoors, with an indoor location available if needed. All supplies will be provided but artists are welcome to bring any of their own.
Limited to 20 people per day.

Twilight Tales: Autumn Nature Hike
October 25 + 26 | 5 - 6:15 p.m. | $20 per person
Come see the stunning falls colours in the Niagara Glen just before dusk. As the sun starts to fade, you’ll hear about the dark history of the Niagara Gorge and how it transforms with the changing seasons. Parking is included
Limited to 40 people per day.
