Niagara Falls, ON – The Niagara Parks Foundation officially launched this morning with a ceremony held at the Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory, coinciding with Earth Day 2022. The not-for-profit foundation will operate as a board governed registered charity, which will seek to support and advance stewardship initiatives of Niagara Parks through funding, research and public education.
The foundation will operate as a distinct entity, while collaborating with the Niagara Parks Commission to fund stewardship projects and initiatives within the park, in the following areas:
- Environmental Stewardship and Conservation
- Heritage Restoration
- Accessibility Enhancements
- Performing Arts and Music
- Stewardship Focused Research
- Active Living
Contributors to the Niagara Parks Foundation can donate in a variety of ways, including one-time gifts and monthly donations, legacy giving, along with gifts of recognition including the dedication of trees and benches throughout Niagara Parks’ outdoor spaces.
