Niagara Falls, ON – Niagara Parks is proud to welcome judges from Communities in Bloom to evaluate the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens on Monday, August 10, as part of the 2026 Communities in Bloom National Symposium and Awards Ceremonies.

The 2026 Community in Bloom National Symposium and Awards Ceremonies are an annual recognition of horticultural marvels on a provincial, national and international scale. This program’s goal is inspiring all communities and attractions to enhance the quality of life and the environment through people and plants to create community pride. The national and international results will be announced in Montreal and Rosemère, Quebec, Canada, from October 15 to 17, 2026.

Celebrating 90 Years of Horticultural Excellence

Established in 1936, the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens has become a must-visit destination for garden enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Designed by students of the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture, the gardens feature over 80,000 annual plants grown in the on-site greenhouse. One hundred and fifty student-designed hanging baskets can also be spotted in the gardens throughout the growing seasons.

The site is also home to the Butterfly Conservatory, a beloved family attraction that marks its 30th anniversary this year. This fall, in collaboration with the Niagara Parks Foundation, Niagara Parks will break ground on a brand-new four-acre Children’s Garden to be located next to the Butterfly Conservatory, representing the next phase of growth for this treasured site.

Committed to environmental stewardship, education and horticultural excellence, Niagara Parks proudly celebrated the 90th anniversary of the Botanical Gardens and School of Horticulture on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
