  • The Niagara Parks Culinary team has partnered with local non-profit organization The Bridge to reduce food waste and food insecurity across the region
  • This initiative is part of a larger nationwide food recovery program led by Montreal-based La Tablée des Chefs
  • This program aligns with Niagara Parks’ commitment to sustainable practices and supporting the local community

Niagara Falls, ON – Niagara Parks has launched a new partnership with The Bridge, a mission church and food recovery centre in Niagara Falls to fight food insecurity and reduce waste. Through this initiative, Niagara Parks’ Culinary Team donates leftover food from special events and functions, which would otherwise go to waste to The Bridge, who then distributes it to the community at large.

In December, Niagara Parks provided its first donations of leftover food from two larger events, resulting in 26 containers of donated food shared with Niagara residents in need.

This initiative is part of a larger nationwide food recovery program led by La Tablée des Chefs, a Montreal-based organization that connects businesses with local charities to redistribute surplus food. Niagara Parks is proud to join more than 250 donors in this impactful effort.

Along with this new partnership, Niagara Parks has ramped up its waste diversion efforts at its culinary locations, composting 154,000 pounds of organic waste from January to September 2024. These actions are reducing landfill waste, cutting methane emissions, and supporting soil health, promoting sustainability across the region.
