Niagara Falls, ON – This Civic Holiday weekend, visitors are invited to plan a visit to Niagara Parks to discover exciting new exhibits and experiences, all while making lasting family memories. From the new Pollinator Playground exhibit at the Butterfly Conservatory to opportunities to connect with Niagara’s rich heritage through the Canada Strong Pass, there is an adventure for every age and interest.
New Ways to Explore Niagara Parks’ Beloved Attractions
Families can experience the brand-new Pollinator Playground, a vibrant, living exhibit where visitors of all ages can discover the hidden world of pollinators at the Butterfly Conservatory. From the Live Sketchbook to the Puzzle Pond, guests can learn about the different pollinators from across the Niagara region through digital discovery and hands-on learning.
Located just outside the Conservatory, guests can enjoy a complimentary theatrical puppet show, “A Short History of Niagara”, presented in partnership with the Shaw Festival. Shows run twice a day, six days a week from Thursday to Tuesday.
The Niagara Parks Power Station is celebrating its 5th anniversary this summer since opening as a dynamic new attraction in 2021. New this season, guests can access additional historic spaces, including the original control room and restored General Manager’s office, through an enhanced curated guided tour. New exhibits, including Tesla vs. Edison and the war of the currents, further showcase Niagara’s important role in the history of electricity and innovation.
Explore Journey Behind the Falls in a whole new light with Journey at Night. From the iconic lower observation deck, visitors can take in the nightly Falls illumination and fireworks from a breathtaking vantage point.
Additionally, guests can visit Niagara Takes Flight and witness Niagara Falls from a one-of-a-kind view. The new, fully immersive flying theatre ride takes guests to the skies for a breathtaking journey along the Niagara River corridor across all four seasons.

Civic Holiday Fireworks
Wrap up Civic Holiday celebrations with fireworks displays each night at 10 p.m. Table Rock Centre, Queen Victoria Place and Grand View Marketplace will be the prime viewing spots for anyone wishing to witness the dazzling display in the sky. Plan a late-night visit to Journey Behind the Falls or the Niagara Parks Power Station for a chance to view the fireworks from the lower observation decks located right next to the Horseshoe Falls. Take in the Music at Queenston Heights Park
Celebrate 50 years of music at the Queenston Heights Bandshell with the return of the Sunday Afternoon Concert Series. Guests can enjoy a free concert at Queenston Heights Park every Sunday until September 6, 2026 from 2 to 4 p.m. On Sunday, August 2, the Jimmy Marando Swing Band will be taking the stage.

Discover Niagara’s History with the Canada Strong Pass
Until September 7, 2026, children 17 and under will receive free admission and youth aged 18 to 24 will receive half-off admission at Niagara Parks’ heritage sites, including Old Fort Erie, Laura Secord Homestead, the Mackenzie Printery and McFarland House as part of the Federal government’s Canada Strong Pass Initiative. Niagara Parks is proud to participate in this program designed to encourage Canadians to explore the beauty of their own backyard, while saving money and supporting local tourism.
Holiday Road Closures
To support a safe and enjoyable Civic long weekend experience, temporary road closures will be in effect. On Saturday, August 1, and Sunday August 2, the Niagara Parkway will be closed to vehicles from Clifton Hill to Fraser Hill, starting at 8 p.m., with a full closure in place by 9 p.m. Additionally, Clifton Hill, between Victoria Avenue and Falls Avenue, will close starting at 8 p.m., with a complete closure by 9 p.m. The roads will be reopened to traffic by 1 a.m. or as crowds disperse following the fireworks. These measures will enhance pedestrian safety and reduce congestion in the vicinity of the Falls.
