Audiovisual Innovations

Branch AV was engaged as a contractor on the project to design and integrate the attraction’s complex audiovisual systems, enabling seamless large-scale production, synchronised media playback, spatial audio and show control. As a result, Niagara Takes Flight combines audiovisual technology with cinematic storytelling, using environmental cues such as rushing water, wind, mist, scent and a musical score to guide guests on an unforgettable journey across the Niagara River corridor.

Recognition as part of this year’s MONDO-DR Awards reflects the global significance of Niagara Takes Flight, which opened on August 29, 2025, as Canada’s newest must-see attraction in Niagara Falls.

Working alongside many other Ontario-based contractors and companies on the project, Branch AV was responsible for delivering a robust audiovisual infrastructure to support the attraction. Branch AV also worked closely with Niagara Parks teams across project delivery, creative, education, operations, engineering, marketing and guest experience to help bring Niagara Takes Flight to life.

Discover Niagara Takes Flight

Filmed over the span of six months using custom-built drones, Niagara Takes Flight allows guests to experience the exhilarating sights of Niagara from a perspective they simply could not enjoy any other way. With guests suspended in gondola-style seating, the ride simulates flight through state-of-the-art motion programming, sensory effects like wind, mist and even scent and a spectacular 17-metre-wide dome screen which stretches below their dangling feet. Disney Imagineer Rick Rothschild, who was a principal creator of the world’s first flying theatre attraction, Disney’s Soarin’ Over California, served as Creative Director on the attraction, which seamlessly transports guests along the Niagara River corridor, spanning all four seasons and transitioning the scenery from day to night.

Brogent Technologies, the recognized world leader in flying theatre attractions (Chicago, New York, Las Vegas) oversaw the ride construction and overall attraction development. Since opening in August 2025, Niagara Takes Flight has welcomed over 330,000 guests. For more information about Niagara Takes Flight and to buy tickets, visit niagaraparks.com/flight.
