Niagara Falls, ON – The Niagara Parks Police Service has arrested a man and a woman, both from Terrebonne, Que., following an investigation into a series of reported pickpocketing thefts targeting visitors to Niagara Parks. Both suspects have been charged with four counts of theft under $5,000, three counts of unauthorized use of a credit card and two counts of attempt to commit an offence.
On Saturday, June 13, a senior male guest queuing in line at the WildPlay Zipline attraction in Queen Victoria Park reported being the victim of an alleged pickpocketing incident. Niagara Parks Police officers reviewed the circumstances and identified a potential connection to a similar incident reported in August 2025 that occurred at Table Rock Centre, although the suspects had not previously been identified.
Acting on this information, Niagara Parks Police officers developed a coordinated response. On June 14, officers dressed in plain clothes located two suspects and observed what appeared to be an attempted theft of a female guest’s wallet. Officers intervened and arrested two individuals.
As a result of the investigation, Niagara Parks Police Service believes the suspects had been travelling across Ontario, staying in locations for short periods of time and relying on delayed reporting and cross-jurisdictional challenges to avoid detection.
Both suspects remain in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for June 18. The Niagara Parks Police Service investigation is ongoing, and further charges may be laid.
The Niagara Parks Police Service reminds visitors to stay vigilant and remain aware of their surroundings in crowded public areas, including keeping wallets, mobile phones and other valuables secure.
